Nieuw, de Rogue Large Softbox Kit

Expoimaging, oa de uitvinder van de Expodisc, heeft van hun merk Rogue weer een nieuw product uitgebracht. Het is niet helemaal nieuw, maar eerder een zinnige toevoeging aan het assortiment.
De populaire Flashbender Large en het optionele Diffusion Panel zijn nu samengevoegd in 1 verpakking en aangevuld met een zwart/zilver reflectiepaneel.

U kunt de Flashbender gebruiken als reflector en snoot, maar ook om af te vlaggen. Wanneer het Diffusion Panel gebruikt wordt, verandert u de Flashbender in een softbox.

Met de zilveren reflector kunt u meer contrast toevoegen en verhoogt u de lichtintensiteit.

Deze kit zal met ongeveer 2 weken leverbaar zijn.

Today is the official release date of Profoto’s new line of softboxes: the RFi softboxes.

The fastest and easiest way to learn about the RFi softboxes is to watch the video. But if you are more of the reading type, here is the short version:

RFi softboxes come in twelve models and four shapes: rectangular, square, octagonal and strip. To ensure full control for the photographer, they have a deeper shape, a recessed front, double-layered diffusers and a highly reflective silver interior. Optional accessories, such as Softgrids and Stripmasks, are available for even more precise light shaping.

We are also launching a new line of speedring adaptors that makes the RFi softboxes compatible with more than 20 different flash brands, ranging all the way from speedlights to high-end studio strobes. The speedring adaptors are designed so that the RFi softboxes can be rotated 360°. Add to that Profoto’s unique zoom function that allows you to slide the softbox back and forth on the head. Also, the speedring adaptors are color coded to make the softboxes as easy as possible to assemble and dissemble.

Last but not least, each RFi softbox is hand-sewn with heat resistant, high-quality fabrics, and all seam lines, edges and corner pockets are reinforced. These babies are built to last.

Profoto, presenteert een nieuwe lijn softboxen: de RFi-serie.

De softbox is nog steeds de meest populaire lichtvormer. Door de overbekende vorm lijken de meesten softboxen sterk op elkaar. Maar de meeste fotografen weten dat het verschil tussen de softboxen onderling groot is. Met de introductie van de nieuwe RFi lijn maakt Profoto het onderlinge verschil nog groter.

De RFi Softboxen zijn beschikbaar in 12 maten en vier modellen: rechthoekig, vierkant, de octa en de strip. Speedring adapters zijn leverbaar voor 26 verschillende merken. Bij de RFi serie is alle ervaring van de vorige generaties gebruikt, RFi Softboxen zijn dieper uitgevoerd waardoor het licht meer voorwaarts gericht is met minder strooilicht naar de randen. De “RF” in RFi betekent “recessed front” :verdiept voorvlak. De randen van het recessed front zorgen ervoor dat het strooilicht strak onder controle blijft. Ook is de opstaande rand te gebruiken om de softgrids te monteren.De Softgrid is een nuttige accessoire dat ervoor zorgt dat de lichtcontrole zeer nauwkeurig te beheersen is. Andere optionele accessoires zijn de Flat Front Diffuser en het StripMasker.

Bij het RFi ontwerp staat gebruiksvriendelijkheid centraal. De kleurgecodeerde speedringen en de klittenband aansluitingen maken de softboxen op een eenvoudige manier zowel in- als uit-elkaar te halen. Elke RFi softbox bestaat uit een minimale hoeveelheid onderdelen en is zonder gereedschap te monteren.

En dan de lichtkwaliteit. Dat is uiteindelijk de reden dat Profoto al tientallen jaren de keuze is van veel professionals wereldwijd en de RFi Softboxen continueren deze traditie. Alle RFi Softboxen hebben een zilverkleurig interieur waardoor ze een hogere lichtopbrengst geven en een pittig contrast. Het licht gaat dan door twee difussiedoeken om het een egaal karakter mee te geven.

Tot slot, de RFi Softboxes zijn zeer duurzaam uitgevoerd. Elke softbox is met hittebestendige doek van de beste kwaliteit uitgevoerd. Alle naden, hoeken zijn versterkt om een lange probleemloze levensduur te garanderen.


En de “i” in RFi komt van “improved”.

Where some see just a piece of cutlery, Italian photographer Angelo Antelmi sees a tool for expressing an idea. It is different way of looking at the everyday objects in our surroundings, and it is most likely that which has turned Angelo into a successful product photographer.
“Still life photography is fantastic,” says Angelo. “It is one of the few photographic activities where you cannot bluff. To create a great image, you need a great idea and great equipment, and in the end, still life images respond to only one requirement: clarity. Clarity of the concept expressed. Clarity of the image. Clarity in product visibility. And so on…”
An illustrative example of Angelo’s philosophy of simplicity is his image of the spinning fork. The image in question was shot as part of an assignment for an Italian catering company. The company claimed to offer high-quality service “on the tip,” and Angelo illustrated this by making a fork look like it was dancing.
“It wasn’t easy to create something lively and poetic out of such a commonly used tool,” says Angelo. “The winning choice was to rotate the fork on its own axis, hanging by a thread of cotton, which I then removed in postproduction. To enhance the concept of the dance, I curled a little tulle around the body the fork, which helped to humanize the object and give the feeling of movement.”

Simplicity also guided Angelo when he set up his lights. He used one light source: a Profoto Softbox 1x3’ RF, mounted on an Acute/D4 Head, powered by a D4 Air generator. The softbox was placed to the left of the fork, with one piece of black fabric on each side of the softbox to prevent the light from hitting the background or the camera in the front. Finally, Angelo had a reflector screen on the right-hand side of the fork to light up shadows.
Once set, Angelo spun the fork, opened the shutter and fired his flash numerous times. The result: a dancing fork.
“Without the D4 Air, this shot would not have been possible,” says Angelo. “I believe we fired the flash 12 times in this particular image. If there had been even the slightest variation in terms of power or color temperature, the final result would have been seriously compromised. The harmony of the picture depends on the perfect consistency of all twelve bursts. I don’t know any other generator that would enable me to do that.”

Nieuwe Creative Light producten

Geachte lezer,
Creative Light heeft weer een aantal nieuwe producten toegevoegd aan hun bestaande assortiment. Het gaat om 1 softbox + grid en een aantal reflectieschermen.
De CL softbox 120x180cm RF is nu de grootste softbox in het assortiment van Creative Light en is perfect geschikt om grotere onderwerpen uit te lichten, zoals groepen, meubels, machines of mensen. Deze softbox is een welkome aanvulling op het toch al behoorlijke assortiment aan verschillende maten softboxen.
Voor optimale controle van het licht is er ook nog een softgrid 60 graden beschikbaar om het licht beter te sturen en om strooilicht te reduceren.

In tegenstelling tot de bestaande lijn van veelgebruikte CL reflectieschermen, biedt de nieuwe 5-in-1 versie 5 verschillende oppervlakten in een ronde vorm. In 1 reflector zitten de volgende varianten: zilver/zwart, sunlight/wit en transparant. Het is de perfecte tool voor fotografen en filmers op locatie, die zo min mogelijk willen meenemen en toch genoeg flexibiliteit willen hebben.

De 5-in-1 reflector is te verkrijgen in de maten: 50cm, 95cm en 120cm.
Het materiaal en metalen frame zijn van hoge kwaliteit en hebben een lange levensduur en een prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding zoals alle Creative Light producten.
Verder hebben ze een "Deluxe" variant uitgebracht van de standaard ronde reflectieschermen. Deze variant is nagenoeg vierkant van vorm en beschikt over een handgreep, zodat hij veel gemakkelijker is in het gebruik.

De "Deluxe" reflectieschermen zijn verkrijgbaar in 4 verschillende versies; namelijk transparant, zilver/wit, sunlight/wit en goud/wit en in de volgende maten; 60cm, 80cm en 120cm.
