The Brand New ProDaylight 400 Air put to use!

On April 16, Profoto introduced two new HMI lights to our line of continuous lights sources: ProDaylight 200 Air & ProDaylight 400 Air. We wrote a short post about it yesterday, and if you want to know all there is to know about it, you should definitely check out our new webpage dedicated to the subject.

Today, we present the first video and the first batch of images we have seen shot by someone that does not work at Profoto, using the ProDaylight 400 Air. The man behind the camera is Gordon Andersson – freelance photographer and professional blogger in Stockholm, Sweden.

The video was filmed with the Nikon D800, 45mm PC-E, f/2.8, 1/50s and iso 200. The images was shot with the same camera, but instead of using the lens, Gordon decided to shoot through his large format camera, f/5,6-8, 1/30s and iso 800. (See video below.) The result speaks for itself.

Also, the fact that Gordon’s video is like a moving portrait is a beautiful demonstration of how the ProDaylight units blurs the line between still and moving images. Thanks for for sharing, Gordon!

Profoto Air Camera Release Cables

On March 1, we released a new product that we think you might be interested in – Camera Release Cables.
Camera Release Cables can be used for triggering your camera from afar. Just find the dedicated Camera Release Cable that fits your specific camera model, and connect it to a Profoto Air Sync unit (or a Profoto Air Remote) to use as a receiver. Then use a second Air Sync/Remote as a transceiver. You can now trigger the camera from the palm of your hand.
Camera Release Cables can also be used to trigger more than one camera at a time. Use the Camera Release Cables to connect Air Sync/Remote units to each remote camera. Then use another Air Sync/Remote as a transmitter, and instantly release all of your cameras with the simple press of a button.
Note that Profoto Air is not exclusively for Profoto users. Externally connected Air Sync/Remote units allow you to synchronize almost any flash equipment, regardless of brand.

Profoto Prodaylight Air

PROFOTO NIEUWS: de Daylight Air, ProTungsten Air een HR Lantern en HR softboxen  én de Cine Reflector; een compleet continu licht assortiment voor de fotograaf en (HD) filmer.

De Daylight Air geeft een ideale aanvulling op dag- en flits-licht door zijn HMI lamp met 5600 Kelvin kleurtemperatuur. Met de ingebouwde Air radio afstandsbediening waardoor het licht eenvoudig op afstand dimbaar is. Door de hitte van het HMI-licht zijn niet alle bestaande accessoires te gebruiken, meer informatie over HMI-licht vindt u op de Mamiya website

De Pro Tungsten levert met zijn 3200 Kelvin een kunstlichtlamp voor de professional. De lamp is leverbaar met 500W en 1000W halogeenlampen. De ingebouwde Air radio zorgt ervoor dat het licht eenvoudig op afstand dimbaar is. Met de Profoto Studio Software kan de gebruiker verschillende lichtsetups instellen en opslaan waardoor verschillende opnamesets jaren later op exact dezelfde manier zijn uit te lichten.
De Profoto Cine Reflector combineert de in de filmindustrie populaire Parabolische (PAR) reflector met de klassieke Profoto Zoom reflector. In combinatie met tal van nuttige accesoires is de Cine Reflector een van de meest veelzijdige " light shaping tools" in het Profotosysteem.
De PAR reflector geeft standaard een pittige lichtbundel die met PAR lenzen verder aangepast kan worden. De lichtbundel kan zonder lenzen gevarieerd worden tussen 35 en 105 graden dankzij de unieke Profoto zoom functionaliteit. Voor nog meer mogelijkheden is er de keuze uit 5 soorten lenzen en 4 scrims, kleuren filters en een kleppenset. De PAR reflector is uitgevoerd met een dubbelwandige behuizing om de warmte af te voeren en de de robuustheid te bevorderen.
Door de hogere warmteontwikkeling van met name de Pro Daylight HMI koppen is er een nieuw serie HR softboxen beschikbaar met een duidelijke knipoog naar de filmindustrie. De Profoto HR Lantern is een oude bekende op de meeste filmsets maar nu in een nieuwe hittebestendige PROFOTO uitvoering. Ook de standaard softboxen zijn nu in een HR uitvoering leverbaar.

De Profoto flitskoppen zijn ook te gebruiken met de PAR reflector en de HR softboxen waardoor ook de fotograaf kan beschikken over de speciale eigenschappen van deze nieuwe "lightshapers". Bekijk de Profoto promotiefilm op youtube  
MOLA komt met een nieuwe Reflector: de MOLA BEAMM 33,5 Inch (85 cm)

De enige Mola met een gepolijst zilveren binnenkant voor een hard spot effect. Met een opaalglas lichtdiffusie systeem.
