- Watch Mark Wallace use two Profoto D1s to get an old fashioned look in portrait photography. He uses one D1 with a gobo to get this hazy, faded background while using another directly on the model; these two together separate the background from foreground for a distinct and crisp look.

Want some tips on how to utilize classical lighting techniques (such as the rembrandt) on your outdoor shoot? Pop Photo has posted a nice article on this matter, featuring none other than Joey Lawrence, better known as Joey L.
The article features images that Joey shot during his recent trip to the remote region of Ethiopia’s lower Omo Valley. Joey brought a Profoto Pro-7b with him, and, as the articel states, “lavished as much photographic care and attention on herders and other natives as he does for any Hollywood star.”
It is always a pleasure to take part of Joey’s work. Make sure to check it out.
